About the farm and producer

After a childhood spent on his father’s coffee farm in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, Arcenio Villatoro carried the dream of owning his own farm. In 2007, he purchased land in the town of Cuilco and began to produce his own coffee there with the help of his wife and three children. Sharing wet mill equipment and drying patios allows Arcenio and his brothers Edwin and Wilmer, who own adjacent fields, to keep costs down and make good use of their resources. With many years of experience in coffee, the Villatoro family continues to refine their harvesting and processing methods and experiment with new varietals.

Don Arcenio’s coffees, specifically his Gesha Naturals, regularly place in Guatemala’s Cup of Excellence (in 2025, one of his lots placed 5th in the country)! Our favorite part about visiting Bella Vista is the mean cup of Gesha that Don Arcenio always brews for us in his Mister Coffee.
