About the farm and producer

A resident of San Miguel Tzampetey, Arturo Tuy Perez and Kapeh Utz found each other by chance as we were driving out of Tzampetey one evening. We noticed someone in the distance working parchment on several small patios and decided to go see what he was up to. Now, we have been working together for 11 years! During the peak of harvest, Arturo’s patios are completely full of drying coffee, requiring round the clock maintenance. He takes a truly artisan approach to coffee production - from super selective hand picking to wet mill processing, his attention to detail is exceptional! He also uses avocado trees for shade on his coffee farm and sells the avocados locally. We truly admire Arturo’s commitment to community and helping others, and have learned so much from him about producirng and processing coffee.
